Dale Montelione Grust, LMT
Dale is a NY State Licensed Massage Therapist who began her career in Santa Fe, New Mexico studying at Dr. Scherer’s Academy of Massage and Natural Healing. Initially intrigued by human physiology, the healing arts, and alternative health care, Dale began a journey of exploration that continues to this day. Her pursuit of education has lead to diversified expertise in many modalities. She has studied Orthopedic Massage with James Waslaski and advanced Myofascial training with Til Luchau. A special area of interest is Craniosacral Therapy. Dale studied several advanced levels of bodywork with the world -renowned Upledger Institute. She is also a certified Infant Massage Instructor who works with newborns with special needs. Dale utilized this skill through her volunteer work in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit working with the parents of premature babies.
Her commitment to the professionalism of massage led her to work as a volunteer with the American Massage Therapy Association and currently holds the office of President with the AMTA-New York Chapter. A special project for her presidency includes support for the enforcement of the Licensure Law in NY by encouraging other licensed massage therapists to report any unlicensed practitioners. In addition, she would like to encourage continuing education for all licensed massage therapists in an effort to raise the standards of the massage profession.
Her thirst for education has led her to become a Nationally Certified Continuing Education Provider through the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and she offers a class in Hot Stone Massage to other licensed massage therapists.
In her practice, Dale specializes in medical massage and pain relief. She strives to find the imbalance in the body that is the cause of pain. To enhance the stress relief component of her practice, Dale has added Spa Techniques including Hot Stone Massage, Salt Scrubs and Body Wraps. Dale believes in treating every person as a unique individual. She employs her vast experience and knowledge of different modalities to customize every session to meet the client’s needs.
