A Staff of New York State Licensed Massage Therapists Dedicated to Offering Exceptional Quality Health Care
DALE MONTELIONE GRUST, LMT
Dale is a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist with over 30 years' experience. She is the founder and director of the Center for Therapeutic Massage and the founder of CoreStones®, LLC.
Dale began her career in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1981 where she studied at Dr. Scherer’s Academy of Massage and Natural Healing. Initially intrigued by human physiology, the healing arts and alternative health care, Dale began a journey of exploration that continues to this day. Her pursuit of education has lead to diversified expertise in many modalities. Some of her studies include orthopedic massage, craniosacral therapy and spontaneous muscle release technique (SMRT). She is also a certified Infant Massage Instructor who has worked with newborns with special needs. Dale utilized this skill through her volunteer work in a neonatal intensive care unit working with the parents of premature babies.
Using the knowledge she gained through her years of study, Dale created a modality using CoreStones®—hot or cold—to achieve therapeutic results. As a nationally certified continuing education provider through the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), she offers classes in CoreStone® Massage to other licensed massage therapists.
In her practice, Dale specializes in medical massage and pain relief. She strives to find the imbalance in the body causing the pain. Dale believes in treating every person as a unique individual. She employs her vast experience and knowledge of different modalities to customize every session to meet the client's needs.
JOHANNA LONGBOTHAM, LMT
Johanna Longbotham received her Associate's Degree in Massage Therapy from Columbia Greene Community College. Shiatsu and Swedish massage were her focus during her training, and she is also trained in myofascial release, post-mastectomy massage and hot CoreStone® massage.
Having personally lived through breast cancer, Johanna can relate to the strength of the human body, which can be made to bend itself towards healing when given the chance. Johanna works with her clients to achieve this and other goals personally tailored to their needs. Her approach to massage centers on helping the client relax deeply and quietly so there is an unwinding of stress with focused massage.
CARLA KNAUF, LMT
Carla Knauf is a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist. She graduated from the Finger Lakes School of Massage in 1997.
In her practice of manual therapy, she uses many massage modalities to help address the pain, stress and soft tissue imbalances and dysfunction that so many people experience. She uses passive and active stretching, myofascial release techniques and joint capsule manipulation to help restore balance, reduce pain and create freedom of movement.
She has always been dedicated to furthering her studies in manual therapies and bodywork and finds it rewarding to see the positive changes massage makes in the lives of her clients.
LYNN PIERSON, LMT
Lynn Pierson is a New York State Licensed Massage Therapist. She graduated from the Hudson Valley School of Massage Therapy and has been practicing licensed massage since 2005. Lynn's clinical approach to massage incorporates orthopedic massage, myofascial release techniques and medical modalities, while simultaneously recognizing somatic patterns related to the emotional experiences of daily life.
Lynn has been trained in the CoreStone® technique and has studied with practitioners such as Whitney Lowe and Erik Dalton. Lynn's prior experience as a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM)–certified personal trainer assists in her working understanding of the body's dynamic physiology. Having also completed a BA in psychology and worked in the mental health field, Lynn has directly observed how the mind and its thought processes can directly affect and influence our bodies' everyday mechanical function.
